Dartmouth's West End
Dartmouth’s West End is a global hub for interdisciplinary research, education, and public programs at the intersection of science, technology, business, engineering, energy, and entrepreneurship. Home to Tuck School of Business, Thayer School of Engineering, the Class of 1982 Engineering and Computer Science Center, Magnuson Center for Entrepreneurship, and the Arthur L. Irving Institute for Energy and Society, the West End is revolutionizing how we think, teach, learn, and lead.
May is a busy time for visitors to the Upper Valley, so we encourage you to make a hotel reservation as soon as possible. We have special rates for the celebrations at the following hotels: Norwich Inn, Holiday Inn in White River Junction, and the Hilton Garden Inn in Lebanon, New Hampshire. You may also want to look for availability within an hour or so of Hanover in both New Hampshire and Vermont. Don’t forget to also check out airbnb, Vrbo, Quechee Lakes rentals, Eastman Lake rentals, and Hanover Hostel.
The McGuire Family Prize for Societal Impact
The McGuire Family Prize for Societal Impact recognizes and rewards Dartmouth community members who have contributed toward or are responsible for making a significant positive impact on humanity, society, or the environment.
The inaugural $100,000 McGuire Family Prize for Societal Impact will be presented to Jason McLellan, a structural biologist whose groundbreaking coronavirus research conducted at the Geisel School of Medicine laid the foundation for COVID-19 vaccines that have saved countless lives.
